How To Heal Yourself

Hello Wonderful.
We've experienced the loss of so many special people in our personal lives and on the world stage: Tom Wolfe, Aretha Franklin, Neil Simon and Senator John McCain who would have been 82 today. This weekend we'll be watching Senator McCain's funeral where he will be eulogized by former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush proof that we can come together regardless of our politics and differences to honor integrity, humility, and human dignity. Today's issue is dedicated to healing rifts in all areas of our lives.

100% Editorial picks. No pay for play. Ever.

The Tragedy.  How does one recover from a loss of such magnitude that it feels like the pain will never end? There's a poignant article in The Week about Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant's book Option B that several of our friends describe as both life-changing and life-saving.

The Energy.  Our CEO Amy Parker tried her very first energy healing session at Rancho La Puerta after her father died. She was skeptical going into the treatment but a true believer afterward. Does energy healing really work? You be the judge.

The Sound.  If a long soak in a warm tub isn't enough to melt away the stress, try sinking into a sound bath--the latest trend in rebooting your system.

The Split.  Last week we wrote that 'good enough' relationships went the distance. But Time Magazine is of a different opinion especially when your friends and family start to voice concerns: How to Know When It's Time to Let Go of Someone You Love.

The Swill.  We often write The What from our second office inside a winery so this latest health news is a major downer
