This September through November, Chicago Humanities Festival brings the humanities to your screen! Presenters include acclaimed author and poet Claudia Rankine on race in America, Professor Peniel E. Joseph on the legacies of civil rights icons Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, and New Yorker staff writer Jill Lepore on the data-driven twenty-first century. More preeminent speakers will be announced as the season unfolds. We’ll continue to present our Chicago Neighborhood Check-In Series, started this spring, which brings together local artists, activists, students, educators, and business owners from Chicago neighborhoods to discuss the local impact of COVID-19 and social protests. This season we’re also launching a new series called "What's Next?" which will envision the future for a range of issues like voting, the environment, and freedom of speech.
