The Apollo Theater Chicago is a mainstay in the Chicago theater community. A mid-size commercial venue, the Apollo specializes in long-running shows that bring people from all over Chicago, as well as all over the world, together with their shared love of performing arts. The storied history of the Apollo Theater Chicago spans four decades, multiple production companies, and many shows, but the one thing each decade, group and show has in common is a dedicated work force of artists and crew, theater management and staff who make sure the Apollo Theater Chicago remains one of the best venues in the city for live theater. A donation to the Apollo Theater Chicago goes to those people who make it one of the best venues in the city. The heart and soul of the operation are the box office agents, ushers, artists, cleaning crew, and house managers. Please help the Apollo be able to give them some extra money while there are no shows and the space is closed down. Management acknowledges that the owner of the Apollo has already generously provided funds to all such employees for a brief period during the work stoppage. However, with many cancelled events and postponements, he cannot, on his own, support the entire staff for the extended period of time the theater will be closed.
