Sebene Selassie on Hurry Slowly LIVE

Meditation teacher Sebene Selassie.
Hi Friends-

A quick note to invite you to a special Hurry Slowly live interview I'll be doing this Thursday…

I'm going to be in conversation with Sebene Selassie for a special edition of the podcast live on Zoom this Thursday, July 30th from 5:00-6:15pm EST.

Sebene Selassie is a meditation teacher, a writer, and friend, who has studied Buddhism for over 30 years. Her new book, You Belong, explores spirituality and humanity through the lens of belonging, making the case that accepting our own inter-connectedness is the surest route to accepting ourselves. She has previously appeared on Hurry Slowly in season two for a beautiful episode on Unravelling Your Inner Critic.

On Thursday, we'll be having a wide-ranging conversation about how we get caught up in thinking we don't belong because we are, as Krishnamurti says, "thinking the culture's thoughts"; why those who are not a part of the dominant culture have less perspective than those who are cast as "marginalized"; and how practicing embodied awareness can help us avoid getting trapped in vicious cycles of productivity and performativity. We'll be doing about 50 minutes of conversation, followed by a live Q&A.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP below. Zoom has audience limits, so it will be first come, first serve. This invite is for newsletter subscribers only so please don't share this link publicly. 🙏
