Everybody just got here

Hey y'all,

Here are 10 things I thought were worth sharing this week:

  1. Looking for summer reading? Here are 10 good books I've read so far this year. (And here are all my favorite books for the past decade or so.)

  2. Errol Morris on "The Pianist and the Lobster." (My favorite line: "It's hard to forgive yourself, really, if you've done nothing wrong.")

  3. Author Richard Wright spent the last years of his life writing thousands of haiku.

  4. Need some writing prompts? Try a bag of words.

  5. The wisdom of director Billy Wilder. (Also: re-read this interview with director Agnes Varda.)

  6. A nice essay on Day of the Tentacle, one of my all-time favorite adventure games. (You can get the remastered version on Steam.)

  7. Jonathan Fields interviewed me for the Good Life Project podcast. Really fun conversation.

  8. Ear candy: The electronic band Autechre gave away 2 hours of unreleased music from their early days. (If you like punk, I've been listening to a Spotify playlist recreation of the 1980 Rough Trade compilation, Wanna Buy A Bridge?)

  9. Eye candy: Our friends got my wife and I hooked on Rick and Morty.

  10. Remember: Everybody just got here.
