Patience is a skill.
It gives you an advantage over those who don't have it.
Makes you more likely to accomplish your goal.
And requires nothing more than what you already have within you.
Yet, most people choose not to practice it.
That only makes it more valuable.
Now, on to this week's ideas...

"Your ideal target audience doesn't need to be the only people who enjoy your work, they're just the ones who are most likely to enjoy it."
I wrote this post to help comedians, but the advice is universal and it will help you grow an audience even if you don't have anything to do with comedy.

"Ask yourself, out of all the things that you enjoy doing and do really well, what are those that many people are asking for?"
It doesn't necessarily take money to make money these days.

"Acquire a healthy dose of selfishness. You are unique, a special person unlike any other on Earth. Self worth is not a luxury - it's a necessity if you want a fulfilling life."
Somebody posted a video on Reddit of their 91-year-old grandmother sharing some of the most valuable things she's learned over the years and it's well worth the two minutes it will take you to watch it.
Her advice on how to live a positive life includes to make a couple new friends every year, try not to fret about the past or the future, and always learn something new (she took up tap dancing at 82-years-old).

"Your actions and results will not always reflect your intentions, but as you move towards 'greatness,' you should have a better idea of what inputs actually deliver output."
This will make you realize greatness is more attainable than you may think.
Her advice includes to focus on consistency, optimize your inputs to generate the desired output, and establish a habit of progression.

"If I could give people ONE writing tip it would be: Use the active voice! Seriously. The passive voice is just…lame. On the flipside, the active voice is crisp and clear."
You probably think this post is going to be the same basic advice you've heard a million times - trust me, it's not.
Brian Dean shares the definitive guide to writing a blog post and it's packed with specific, actionable advice you probably haven't heard before about everything from how to find a proven topic to write about, to how to create an awesome headline, to how to promote your content.
I found a bunch of valuable tips in it that I hadn't seen before (and I've read a LOT of stuff about blogging) so I highly recommend you check it out.
