So let me get this straight. Deborah was put on leave for "bullying," and Dana Tomarken was put on leave (and then fired) for the "misappropriation" of a certificate, but Neil is accused of rape and not only wasn't put on leave, but then for the mere sum of $750,000 could have stayed on as a consultant had Deborah agreed? oh. ok.
And, the whole "secret committee" thing has NOT been a secret to anybody. I do appreciate Deborah being public about it - but how come the labels and managers aren't up in arms over it? Because they knew. Bob, they've always known, and they've benefited. They're part of the problem too.
While we're here - let's cover two more things.
Claudine Little is not a nice person. Mike Greene didn't want her in his office, and pushed her out, and same goes for Deborah apparently. Neil used Claudine as the "bad guy" to his "good guy" role and she thrived off of it. Who hasn't seen Claudine push Neil around by telling him what to do?! Whoever worked in that building during their tenure will have witnessed that over and over again.
And this letter of support by women on the Executive Committee really is a joke. Check to see how long they've been on the Board collectively. To question anything happening under their watch is also to be partially responsible for the shit show it has become.

Re: Harvey Mason Jr. message to NARAS Membership "Clarifying the Nomination Process"
For the record, I am a current Governor in a prominent Chapter of NARAS.
I've been a part of numerous Nomination Review Committees for the Academy.
Harvey's letter states "Should a committee member qualify for a GRAMMY, they are required to leave the room and are NOT allowed to be present for listening sessions, subsequent conversation or the vote to determine the nominees".
This is just not true.
Yes, you are SUPPOSED to leave the room, and not be around when people listen. The truth? People stay around: Committee Chairs and Committee members allow for it on the DL.
People can literally make eye contact with each while a song is being played and, alas, people influence each other's decisions in subtle, and not so subtle ways. Everyone knows it. It's a game played by many.
I should know.
I've been in those rooms.
I didn't leave.
And I've won a few Grammys.
The Truth shall set us free.
Deborah and Change will prevail.

Nail on the head. She "stepped up" (thanks, Portnow) and was shut down. Laura Dern should play her in the movie.
