HELLO POSTMAN FANS!
Today is what is known as "Fat Tuesday"!! And it is
also a good day to be in New Orleans, celebrating the
Mardi Gras. (Mardi Gras, meaning carnival) Fat Tuesday
is a day of feasting before Ash Wednesday. Originally, the
purpose of Fat Tuesday was to get rid of all the fatty
and tempting foods from the house the day before Ash
Wednesday, a day of prayer, that begins the season of Lent.
The interesting thing is that the Bible does not mention
the celebration of Ash Wednesday, Lent, or Fat Tuesday.
However, do we really need a cause for celebrating and
endulging? So hey, eat that extra piece of pie or those
bbq ribs today, its alright!
