Letting Go Of Toxic Friends, Part 2

Hello Wonderful.

One of our most popular issues last year was titled Letting Go Of Toxic Friends. We've all had them and many of us still do. It's rarely a mystery about who these people are--quick to offend, even quicker to take offense; constantly embroiled in dramas centered around victimization or disrespect--you never know what to expect and rarely feel a sense a peace and joy around them. It may seem like a cut and dry issue: toxic friends are unhealthy and we should get rid of them. But they are (or have been) a friend at one point, have they not? Shouldn't we at least try to communicate how their actions affect our feelings before cutting them off? Chances are they are unwittingly stuck in a self-sabotaging pattern. And even more troubling, what if we're the toxic friend? Let us ponder below.
