The Barrenness of a Busy Life

As you return to work on Monday, amid the flurry of emails, calls, meetings, and general catching up, remember that busyness can mask priorities.

"Beware the barrenness of a busy life." – Socrates

Take the time you need for an ordered mind and a calm, rational approach to your week. And take time to reflect on what matters most to you.

It could be family, work, goals, a project you're working on – whatever. But if you're mired in distractions, frivolous activity, or things that are keeping you from concentrating on what matters, perhaps it's time to step away. Put down the phone. Turn off the notifications. Shut the laptop.

There's meaning in self-reflection and time alone.

Go just be with yourself for a bit.

And enjoy the quiet.
