GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
39 years ago today, I exchanged matrimonial
vows and walked down the aisle with that woman
I refer to as "the war department." (I am pretty sure
she gets a little more beautiful every day.) It has been a
grand thing. I do believe I fell in love with her
the moment I laid eyes on her. I was kindof
surprised when she was the one to ask me for
our first date. I was a little more surprised
when she asked me to marry her
on our second one.:)
But after all this time, I gotta say, marriage
really ain't no big secret.The problem that most
folks are having with it these days is very simple.
See, people do not realize, Marriage ain't about
feelings. Yeah, when you love somebody, you
will find feelings of happiness, but that is actually
a by product of what really happens when you
"tie the knot." Marriage is in fact a commitment.
And its a commitment to somebody else. And
when you put that person above yourself,
then you are gonna find that you have a fulfilling
marriage. And, then, just maybe, you will experience
this little thing folks call happiness.
