GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
Anybody still have a land line besides the postman clan? No
one ever calls us on it except oldest daughter and telemarketers.
But, war dept. is "old school" so the land line stays. Because
she turns of the age to draw social security this year, we are
inundated with calls from insurance agencies who want to sell us
supplemental ins. programs and all that. Then of course, there are
the ubiquitous credit card calls, and the guys who want to
sell us an extended warranty on our car. And how bout that
"I'm calling from the Windows technical department about ..."
Amazing, if these outfits are gonna call you, you would think they
would employ people who could speak English. But I digress here...
Anyways, I installed one of those computer blocker thingies
and nowadays most of em do not get through, well maybe one
or two occasionally. In a way, I sortof miss them. Being a bored
senior, I used to enjoy talking to telemarketers. I'm fond of saying
stupid things to them. I once owned a carpet cleaning business.
Ppl would call me all the time wanting to sell me chemicals. One
day I got tired of it. So I gave them a really huge order and then told
them to ship it to a post office box:). But I digress here.
Back to the story, the other morning, phone rings, and
it was curious to me as caller id obviously showed it to be a
telemarketer. (Call blocker missed it. oh well.) I picked it up...
I was not so friendly to the lady on the other end who
promptly informed me that I was a remarkably rude person. I
thought that was absolutely hilarious coming from a person who
makes a living being rude. I then explained to her that if she
was concerned about rude people, she should probably find a
different line of work, wished her a good morning, and hung up.
Let me ask a question. My momma raised me that I should be
pleasant and respectful to everyone you meet regardless of what
you think of them. If that is true, then does that mean we should
not be rude to telemarketers?

PS: I did hear from several of you who indicate, yes, Yahoogroups
screwed up the other day with double issues. But Dennis, my long
time friend who has been reading this page for about the last 100yrs
or so, says, "don't worry about it." Yahoogroups screwed up on a couple
other pages he gets too. So, not gonna worry bout it:) Just remember
tho, don't unsubscribe cuz of the double copies. if you do that, you
won't get any at all. And I know that would be a tragedy for you!!!
