Hi Friend- I don't know about you, but 2019 was an incredible and also incredibly challenging year for me. A few personal highlights: - My podcast Hurry Slowly passed 1.5 million downloads
- I launched my first online course, RESET
- I became a Reiki master
- I had a health crisis related to my voice
- I completely changed my diet
- I quit drinking
- I started meditating everyday
- I bought a house and moved upstate
- I went through a deep psychic cleansing
And all of these things — stuff I'm making, stuff I'm taking away — was in service of trying to find more calm, comfort, and clarity. (I spoke at length about this humbling process on a recent episode of Hurry Slowly.) There are some nice milestones on that list, but I'm not telling you about them to brag. I'm telling you so that you understand that I — like you — am a seeker. Someone who is fascinated by growth and change and transformation. | | My online course RESET, which re-opens for registration in just two weeks on December 17th, is the product of 10 years of seeking. Seeking to understand what drives us to burnout, how we can break out of our toxic patterns of overwork, and how we can create more nourishing daily routines for ourselves. A lot of productivity tips can have the feeling of "here, take my advice, I'm not using it." Like someone is recommending that you do this thing, but it's not really something that they do, or that any real human would do. Not so with RESET. Everything in this course is advice that springs from real-world experience. Ideas that I dreamed up, read about in scientific research, or heard about from the many creative folks I've interviewed over the years. All of which I have incorporated into my own daily routine and road-tested for years. Because they work. | | Since I launched RESET this past January, over 750 people have been through the course. And hearing how it's helped people has honestly been such a comfort to me. Since you've been on this email list considering whether or not to take the course for awhile, I thought I'd share a few common themes that have emerged about what people are taking away from RESET: - New clarity around their priorities and goals
- A framework for structuring their days and making decisions
- A feeling of empowerment and permission to work the way they want
- Tools for being kinder to themselves in the face of stress & overwhelm
- Renewed creative output, motivation, and optimism
Here's what a few recent students have said about their experience: "RESET is an antidote to the cult of busy-ness that we feel so trapped by. It changed the way I view my work and helped me dig deeper into the goals that are truly meaningful to me. I am seeing a marked improvement in my focus and sense of clarity. It's not hyperbolic to say that going through this course has been a life-changing experience." —Marie Williams "RESET came at the perfect time for me — as I was going through another bout of burnout. The tools I gained from the course have helped me create a new vision for myself. I'm excited and optimistic for the first time in years." —Karoline Sandhurst, Psychologist "A lot of productivity advice tends to be very hard and fast — the gentleness of Jocelyn's approach really sets this course apart. I feel more productive and much calmer." —Romas Kazlauskas, Biochemist "In the wake of taking the course, I feel a greater sense of spaciousness and permission to make room for what matters to me." —Lucy Bellwood, Graphic Artist "I managed to achieve more in last month while taking RESET than the 3 years before that." —Rogier Schoenmaker, Web Developer | | RESET re-opens for registration on December 17th, and the 4-week course begins on January 12th. I would love to have you join me in learning how to lay down the burden of your over-busy schedule in 2020. A new, more nourishing way of working is available to you if you're willing and ready for change. ✨ Much love, Jocelyn | | Hi, I'm Jocelyn, the human behind this newsletter.
