GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
For years, I have had the bundle of
phone, internet, and tv from our local cable
company. Unfortunately, there was never much of a
choice for us. Because of the tall trees, satellite
was never an option. And Uverse would not offer service
in this area for a long time because the fiber optics were
so old, they could not give a clear signal. Well, I found
out the other day that they finally upgraded and made me an
offer! It was definitely cheaper than cable,and the great thing
was they offered the Boomerang channel!! Cable does not have that
and what could be more important than being able to watch old reruns
of the road runner, flintstones, and such like? So I am about ready
to sign up and a little voice says, "Not so fast " and my husband
training of 30 plus years kicked in. I told the nice lady on the phone
"You got to call me back, I got to check with the war department first."
And then the nice lady proceeded with a 5 minute speech designed to
change my mind and sweetened the deal with a couple perks.
"That's all fine and dandy, but I can't even change my underware unless
its ok with her. Will you please call me back tomorrow morning?"
Grudgingly, she agreed. Then the war department gets home and we
check their channel listing to find out its missing her 2 most fav
channels. We also discover their internet runs 24 meg, compared to cable
at 50 meg. Their phone plan offered a limited number of calls compared to our
unlimited. They offer no "on demand service" altho they will give us a
free dvr. As a technically challenged older lady, I doubt very much
the war department would be happy with that. I have to admit,
watching old cartoons is a great afternoon passtime, but
keeping the war department happy is DEFINITELY a more constructive
one. We "happily married" hubbies have learned a basic fact about life:
If momma ain't happy, nobody gonna be happy:)
Trust me..s' truth!
I think we will stick with cable
