GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
I thought I had heard it all about scams. But there is
always a new tale to tell. I woke up
the other morning with the phone ringing. Usually
I do not answer caller ids that say "out of area" or
such, but hey, I was half awake. Anyways, the foreign
fella said he was from Microsoft! of all things. Maybe
it was my grogginess but he explained that I had
downloaded a virus and we needed to get rid of it,
or I would be "unable to use my computer."I talked
to the fella for at least a minute or 2 before my mind
cleared up. Hmmm. in 15 years, Microsoft has NEVER called
me about a virus issue. Well, I had been on a couple of
unusual sites last night that I don't normally do. So I
sat down at the puter. And then the heavily accented fellow
told me he needed a credit card number in order to proceed
with the "cleansing" I then politely explained what I thot
of his idea and told him what my opinion was by then. The
request for the credit card number had finally woke me up
and I was starting to pay a little attention. Well, by that
time he was not getting what he wanted and I hung up on him.
Be careful. Scammers are everywhere.
