GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
According to the weather man, we are due to get a
reprieve from the deluge of rain hitting us here in
beautiful West Michigan. At least until Thursday.
Well, anyways, it did not rain today, it was cold
enough that it snowed instead. sigh. The Grand River
runs through our county and it passed flood level
a couple days ago. Consumers Energy opened the flood
gates, on the dam above the town yesterday,
 and our county is now "in a state of emergency"
due to flooding issues. Volunteers filled sand bags
Saturday to keep the sewage treatment plant from flooding.
A couple of very large tower buildings along the river
bank were evacuated. Countless roads are washed out
and closed. And generally speaking, its like travelling
in a war zone, trying to get around this city right now.
Very fortunate for me, I have no where in particular to go
So, I think I will stay put for a couple days. All the
neighbors are crying because they all have sewage backup in their
basements. Fortunately for me, this old house has a little
cellar basement that has no sump pump, has no drain of any
kind. You might think that is bad, but after 30 years of
living here, I have yet to have any water issues down there.
Count my blessings where I can.
