GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
I am just barely managing with this issue today:(
As if I do not have enuff health troubles, seems
that my wrist has flaired up with a severe case
of carpel tunnel, or however u spell that. Tendonitis,
whatever it is. Anyways, too much time on the
computer and its killing my wrist. Could that have
anything to do with the possibilty that between
this page and my computer games I spend about 16hs
a day on this thing? Well today is different. Its
the first I've been on the puter and I have been
wearing a wrist brace all day. Just downed a
couple of tylenol. so, Hopefully, it will
give me enuff strength in the wrist to make it thru
this issue.

GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
Some of you may recall me mentioning that my mother grew up in
the shadows of Churchhill downs. In fact, many of my ancestors
came from that part of the country: mostly around the western foothills of
the Appalachian mountains. And as with most regions, they have
their own unique set of slang terms and expressions. Did you ever
hear the expression, "What the Sam Hill are you doing?" Well if you
are not familiar with the eastern part of rural Kentucky, you may
not have, but it was often a statement of my mother, as we were growing
up. In point of fact, many of my ancestors, while not actually McCoys,
were friends of that family and sided with them during that famous
historical fued between the Hatfields of West Virginia, and the McCoys
of Kentucky. Get the connection? No? well...When the fued escalated to the point that the 2 states almost
called out their respective militias, cooler heads prevailed. And each
state sent an emissary to the region to find out what was going on.
The representative of Kentucky was Adjuntant general Sam Hill. And so
the saying is derived, "What the Sam Hill is going on?" there are three
observations that I wish to make as a result.
1. Ain't it amazing the stuff you can learn from The Postman's Corner,
and
2. When I ramble on with a particularly ridiculous and rather obtuse
monologue like this one, you can say, "what the Sam Hill" is he talking
about and
3. how bout we have some jokes? :)

GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
How is your long weekend going? the weather here has
been superb.!! In the low 70s. Altho I must say
the night has been a bit nippy as it dips down to 55.
This is good as there is narry a skeeter to be found and
hardly no bugs. Seems they think its too cold. It also keeps
the trailer park transplants quieter as its too chilly
at night to hang outside and drink beer. Ispite of the good
weather, we do not do outdoor cooking much any more as she says
its too much work. In the meantime, she has spent most of the
weekend in traditional Memorial day fashion. she usually takes
a "Benjamin" or more down to the local green house to invest
in more flowers. Usually at this time of year it is petunias,
marigolds, and what the heck, I can't remember the rest.
Impatients maybe? I forgot:) The tulips are pretty well finished
now, so the new stuff continues the burst of color in the front
yard that she works so hard for. The back yard is ablaze with these
big orange ones I call Tiger lillies, altho that is probably not the
right name. and them little blue things? violets, maybe. Anyways
whatever they are called, they are beautiful. I hope that all of u are
having a great weekend or what is left of it. Had a great day yesterday.
Daughter's fam came over for lunch ...fried chicken and pulled pork bbq!!!
And then its kick back and play with the grand daughter and new
lil grand son. And u know what else? finish the afternoon with a good long nap:)
So it was a perfect day!
Today will be pretty uneventful. Other than a trip to Sonic's with son.
I like to start every summer out with a good ole bannana split. I
get one every year, and I'm quite happy that Sonic opened their doors
here in our fair city this year. :)

Kids are like farts. You don't mind your own,
but other peoples are unbearable.

GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
The other day, the war department got this silly
idea that our house needs a new door bell. About 15 years
ago, our original door bell gave up the ghost. It was
an old style one. The wire ran inside the door, up across
the entryway, and down across the dining room wall into the
nearest electrical outlet. Then it had this huge old door
bell buzzer contraption that plugged into the wall outlet for
power. When u pressed the button, it was not chimes, it
was the old buzzer sound and it was horrendous. I suspect
that anytime someone rang our "buzzer" the neighbors next
door probably thot it was a Russian mig flying over head to
drop a nuclear bomb. it was so loud. It made about half the
dogs on our block howl in pain with the sound. Well, one day
the thing quit working and I jumped with glee and threw the blasted
thing in the garbage. We simply never bothered to replace the
buzzer and that is kindof nice. When the Jehovah'Witnesses or
an irritating door to door salesman comes around, they will stand
there 5 minutes pushing the door bell and we will never know they
are there. Well, to make a long story short, she bought a door bell
that has a transformer that u have to wire in to the nearest junction
box or circuit breaker box. Unfortunately the nearest place you can
wire it in means u would have to run the wire all along the outside
of the house and down into the basement, as it would be a monstrous
impossibility to crawl underneath our nasty old crawl space with the
wire back to the basement. She finally gave up the idea when she
discovered how much money and work it was gonna cost. Fortunately,
she has not discovered there are wireless magnetic units u can buy
which are simple to install. I have no intention of telling her about
them, either. I would just as soon preserve my peace and tranquilty.
Besides, our old school friends who have known us for years know to
simply go to the back door if they come over. And the x and y generation?
They don't use a door bell anyways, They just stand on the front porch
and call or text to let u know they are there :)

GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
U ever hear that expression, "life happens" ?
well, I know momma has always taught me that. Just
that sometimes you need a reminder. And it happened with
a vengeance last Thursday. Went over to the carpet place
with the war department. We collected a few samples as we
are ready for the final faze of our kitchen project. We just
need to get linoleum and remodeling is done. We had been saving
up our nickels and dimes in the "flooring" fund. cuz we did not
want to withdraw any of our current savings or use a credit card.
Anyways, came home with the linoleum samples to decide which one
we wanted when we discovered that the motor had blown on our old
15 year old freezer. Ugg. at 445 on Thursday afternoon,How to find a repair
man to come over the day b4 a holiday and even if we did, who wants
to dump a ton of money in to a unit that old? So anyways, to make a
long story short, what the heck. When I called Menards, they said they
could deliver a nice one with Friday delivery! I admit, the shopping
aspect was a little limited, but when u are under pressure, you do not
have a lot of options. After all if the problem went unresolved Friday,
we stood to lose more than 200 bux worth of food. So, to make a long
story short, we now have a new Whirlpool freezer, and most of our savings
for the new kitchen floor is gone. sigh.
so, my momma was prophetic when she said "Life happens."
however, my daddy had a couple to add to her statements.
He also said, "There is no getting ahead in this world for a working man"
and perhaps my favorite of all? He said,
"SH*T HAPPENS!!"

Another may find it in robbing banks. Still another may labor
mightily for years in pursuing pure research with no discernible
result. Note the individual and subjective nature of each case. No
two are alike and there is no reason to expect them to be. Each
man or woman must find for himself or herself that occupation in
which hard work and long hours make him or her happy. Contrariwise,
if you are looking for shorter hours and longer vacations and early
retirement, you are in the wrong job. Perhaps you need to take up bank
robbing. Or geeking in a sideshow. Or even politics.
