GOOD MORNING POSTMAN FANS!
I Went to the convenience store to buy a soda.
(pop, to u northern folk) Scanning the cooler,
I had a choice of those horrendously nasty 20 oz bottles
of flat lousy or a fountain pop of flat lousy. I am
a throw back of the old days and I remember on a hot
day, going in and buying a good ole chilled glass bottle
of Mountain Dew, remember? Nothing better than a cold
chilled bottle. Somehow, plastic, IMO, kills the taste of
a good soda. And remember how the glass bottle of Dew had
the little moonshiner running up the hill to the outhouse?
painted on the outside of the bottle? That is
until the "Appalachian Mountain Association" sued Pepsi for
discrimination. Funny thing how nobody ever heard of that group
until they filed the lawsuit on behave of the well being of
"all mountain people everywhere." (I suspect they were probably
cousins of the folks who brought the lawsuit against the makers
of Fritos and the Frito Bandito. Remember him? well, thats another
story and I digress here) Anyways,,,
I know Pepsi makes that "Throwbacks"
Dew that is supposed to be like the old recipe. Its not, really,,
but its a good imitator. But then, I remembered my diabetes, and
grabbed a diet Dew. sigh.
Sometimes memories are better left as memories:(
