Drunken Problem Solving?

Hello Wonderful.
It's only Wednesday but we have major Weekend Brain. Last week we wrote about starting a consistent meditation practice. It's been exactly one week since we started 15 minutes of morning and evening meditation. Admittedly we are known enthusiasts who made a business for ourselves testing and sharing our curiosities. But, like plant-based eating which we embarked on last summer and still practice, meditation is a transformation that we plan to stick with. We have almost 75 readers who are practicing with us. Join our private discussions and revelations here.

The What List

100% Editorial picks. No pay for play. Ever.

The Food.  Weekends don't have to be limited to BBQd burgers and steaks. Feast your eyes on these plant-based, mouth-watering recipes from Cookies + Kate.

The Drink.  Frisky Dingo is Amy's favorite cocktail, which we served at an event last night and let's just say everyone was in a creative problem-solving mood.

The Buzz.  When it came to problem-solving we assumed a sharp mind was an asset until we read this article in Harvard Business Review: Drunk People Are Better At Creative Problem Solving. Good news since our second office is a winery.

The Show.  Simpsons fans mark your calendars and rejoice, Matt Groenig has a new animated fantasy series called Disenchantment premiering in August. We need something to look forward to since the final season of Game of Thrones doesn't hit until 2019.

The Books. As we cruise into the long weekend and summer, you'll need some reading material. In case you missed it, here's our UPDATED Best Fiction List Spring 2018.

WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND

Very true story: numerous times while standing in line at airport security, curious women have asked us what kind of travel bag we were toting. One woman even photographed our bags on a flight from SFO-NYC. Well, the secret's out. We're doting fans of Cuyana's Weekender and adore their new Classic Overnight Bag. We'll be carrying this baby on upcoming work trips and during our summer travels. It also makes a great gift for the grads. See their collection here.

EVENT RECAP

Thanks to everyone who came out to our event last night to celebrate the launch of Boon Supply, an everyday goods company that gives 50% of all purchases to a cause of your choice. We will be working with Boon in the year to come. We love their woman-founded team and they have a mission we wholeheartedly believe in. Boon is a supporter of The What and we hope you'll think of them whenever you need to stock up on stylish staples or want to raise money for a cause that's close to your heart.
